Founded in 1946 by the renowned industrialist, Shri B M Birla, under the name of ‘National Bearing Company Limited’, NEI is a trusted name for excellence in quality and delivery for over 60 years. With increasing activities and grant of industrial licenses for other vital industries and manufacturing, the name of the company was changed to ‘National Engineering Industries Ltd.’ in 1958 retaining its original trade mark NBC. Over the years, NBC has grown to be the leading and fastest growing bearings brand in India and produces over 100 million bearings each year in more than 1000 sizes to serve a host of varied customers across the globe and has become the largest taper roller bearing manufacturer in India. It has the capacity to develop bearings from 10 mm bore to 2000 mm outer diameter. The product range includes ball bearings, tapered roller bearings, double row angular contact (DRAC) bearings, cylindrical and spherical roller bearings. The company has specially equipped facilities to manufacture axle boxes for railway applications; cartridge tapered roller bearings, large-diameter bearings for industrial applications and allied engineering products.

Our bearings are widely used by 2 and 3 Wheelers, Cars, Trucks, Tractors, Electric Motors, Railway wagons, coaches & locomotives, Steel Mills, Heavy Engineering Plants, Bulldozers, Shovels, Tillers and Thermal Power Plants. The automotive and railway industries form the two largest client segments.

NEI is one of the largest domestic bearing manufacturers with gross annual turnover of nearly Rs. 1500 crores in 2013-14. NEI has grown at a CAGR of 17% since 2008-09. Besides serving the Indian market, we export to 21 countries across the globe spanning 5 continents with OEMs in Europe and USA. NBC serves the aftermarket through a countrywide network of over 600 stockists and 2500 retailers.

Headquartered at the rich and beautiful city Jaipur, Rajasthan, NEI has four manufacturing facilities at Jaipur, Manesar, Newai and Vadodara, Gujarat – a green field project with its own state-of-the-art R&D center at Jaipur plant with more than a hundred of technically competent and innovative minds.
